(Question from Soumitra Joshi, Pune,Maharashtra,India)
Hi Coach,
I am Soumitra Joshi from India,I am 14 year’s old.I am a right arm pace bowler.I have a corn or a hard patch on my middle finger. Is it good or bad for me?
Hi Soumitra, it’s nothing to worry about, it’s normal for bowlers to get hard patches of skin or callouses. It’s the bodies response to the friction of the seam on the skin when you release the ball.
I imagine you bowl away swing if it’s on the middle finger, this finger tends to dominate the hand action when you the swing the ball away.
Regards Coach
