Hi Coach,
I am an off spinner and able to bowl an off break delivery and a Doosra but have a problem with chucking or bending my arm so much while delivering it.For this I have been banned from bowling the Doosra.
Please help me and give some tips to me so that I will be able to bowl a Doosra with a legal action.
I hope that you will help me a lot.
Hi Mafaz,
here is Saqlain explaining how to bowl it.
You will hear in the interview how long it took for him to master it, several years.
He used to work on getting the Doosra out with control over a foot, then two foot, then a metre and so on until he could control it over the length of the wicket. You will need to work on wrist flexibility and holding the front side of your body so that it doesn’t open up and become a throw.
If it took Saqlain a couple of years to master it, follow in his footsteps, build it up slowly.
As Shane Warne says in the second clip on Saeed Ajmal, make sure you have a good off spinner. Remember, the Doosra is your variation, not your stock ball.
Best Wishes Coach
